Edo Ichi @ Solaris Dutamas

It has been a long time since i ever went out, just me and my sister. So, i asked her if she could spent some time lunch and chat. I know she is a big fan of japanese, so japanese it is! I have always drive through Solaris area but have not venture to other areas of Damansara. There's this japanese place called "Edo Ichi" which is quite interesting because of the pizza i read on this place. Maybe i will try for myself.

While browsing through the menu, my eyes was looking for the pizza. Edo Ichi Pizza. When the pizza came, i was surprised because the price is so much more than the size of it! Hehe! Well, i am a big fan of ebikko and the plate was clean till spotless. The unagi was the main ingredient of the pizza. I like the crust of the pizza, it tasted fresh like it was made before serving to us.

Edo Ichi Pizza @ RM30.00

Next was the lamb and the salmon. The lamb tasted good. I like the sauce and it blends with the lamb meat. The lamb is not hard and its' really cook till its medium raw. Yum! The salmon looks as fresh as it taste. Seriously, the taste of the salmon is speechless!

Gyu Niku Amiyaki @ RM18.00

Shake Sashimi @ RM28.00
Finally, the last dish ordered was the cheese roll. This was satisfying. It really filled our tummy. Or maybe too much air went in our tummy while we were chatting and laughing. Once i had in my mouth, i could taste the cheese and unagi on top of the roll. It has a cooling cucumber satisfy the after taste. Nice!

Una Cheese Roll @ RM28.00

Well, Its quite pricey but maybe once in a while a get-away lunch time with sister is worth a while. Hehe! The environment is good and same goes to the service. (because it was raining outside and we didn't want to get wet as i park at the other building, so we waited for the rain to stop. And the waitress were non-stop pouring green tea for us. Hehe!)

Max Brenner @ Esplanade Mall, Singapore

After dinner my cousin drove me around to witness the lights of Singapore. The night is still young and my sister suggested to try one place where she heard of while she was in Singapore. This place is located in Esplanade Mall, called Max Brenner. We arrived at 10 plus as the closing time is at 11pm. Quickly we sat and asked for the menu. There is one drink with a unique name called "Suckao". It's like chocolate fondue. The milk poured into the porcelain bowl and add the chocolate as requested. According to the waiter, you will need 15 minutes to boil the milk and soften the chocolate as a fondue. Hehe! The attempt failed! This hands are not made to serve! Hehe!

Suckao Milk/White @ S$7.90

I ordered the drink called "Alice". This drink is a smoothies of dark chocolates. I love dark chocolates and i lover for beverage. I love this drink alot! No regrets! The straw is made of metal so as you suck the drink to your mouth the drink with cool your tongue! Hehe! Nice.

Granita Dark @ S$9.90

Next dish was the fudge cake. The texture of the cake is soft and sweet. Once u reached for the centre, you can see the fudge flowing out from the cake! Wow! I became speechless and just to have more bites as i could not resist it! Sinful of chocolate! Love the ice cream!

Fudge cake @ S$12.00

Then the crepe. The signature ice cream plus whip cream! Classic.

Crepe banana /hazelnut@ S$16.00

The chocolates here taste rich and sweet. Will come again next trip when i will be in Singapore!

Paradise Dynasty Pte Litd @ Ion Orchard, Singapore

Finally have reached Singapore! First thing came out from my mouth was, "Gong Xi Fa Chai, Hong Pau Na Lai"... Hehe! Second was, "What do you have in Singapore that you do not have in Malaysia?" It took them sometime to consider. Then one of my cousin asked me, whether have i eaten colourful "xiao long pau". Colourful xiao long pau? Well, i was fortunate that i do not have to googled as my cousin will be bringing us there for dinner. Ok! so dinner will be colourful xiao long pau!

The restaurant is located in Ion Orchard at the 4th floor. The place does not allow booking in advance and can only be seated once everyone has arrived. Aiyo! Like Jogoya as the last time i went to!

The first dish we ordered, was the Signature xiao long pau. There are 8 flavours which is White Colour -  Pork Dumpling, Dark Orange Colour - Foie Gras Pork Dumpling, Yellow Colour - Cheesy Pork Dumpling, Orange Colour - Crab Roe Pork Dumpling, Black Colour - Black Truffle Pork Dumpling, Green Colour - Ginseng Pork Dumpling, Brown Colour - Garlic Pork Dumpling, Red Colour - Szechuan Pork Dumpling. I don't find any different between the taste. Maybe i was expecting much.
From the Menu

Signature Dynasty Dumpling (8 flavours) @ S$13.80
Next is the noodle dishes. Most of the noodle is made in "la mian" style. The "la mian" is made and can be witness at the front entrance but no photographs can be taken at the kitchen area. The "la mian" is a noodle made by the chef with bare hands by pulling into long thin noodle. Mostly the "la mian" is eaten after the process of pulling the noodle is complete. The "la mian" with beef brisket is very spicy same as the 'dan dan' sauce. The beef brisket has strong beef taste and i like the bits of meat of beef. The 'dan dan' sauce have a peanut taste. Very Shanghai style! I really like the la mian with beef as the soup really taste like beef soup boiled for hours. Yum Yum! I was not so satisfied with the pork bone soup, maybe because the beef soup is overwhelmed my taste butt!

La mian with stewed beef brisket (spicy) & S$10.80

La mian with 'dan dan' sauce @ S$7.00

La mian with beef (non-spicy) @ S$10.80

La mian with sliced pork in signature pork bone soup @ S$9.80
I did ordered some other dishes. I like the scrambled egg, wok-fried rice flour cake. The pork belly was abit upsetting and the size of it is small. The pork dumpling chili sauce is ok-ok. I ordered the sliced fish cake for my older relatives as i do not wish to upset their tummys with spicy and chillies! The serving for this side orders are small and the menu is limited.

Scrambled egg white with fish and dried scallop @ S$10.50

Wok-fried shanghai rice flour cake with meat and vegetables @ S$10.00

Pork dumpling with hot chili sauce @ S$4.80

Braised pork belly @ S$12.00

Stewed sliced fish with chinses wine sauce @ S$14.80

Shanghai fried rice @ S$11.00
Well, it's a good try while in singapore, as i tried the famous colourful "xiao long pau". If i come again, i will try the "xiao long pau" and their beef la mians. One special remark is, i had to walk all the way to the entrance to pay the bill as it will not be served to the table. Maybe more walking for a big tummy like mine. Hehe!

Han Room @ Mid Valley

Happy Chinese New Year and Gong Xi Fa Choy 2011. I'm so happy to have many reunion chinese new year dinners with friends and family this year. Wishing more to come as this year is a great year for me. Hehe!

A friend from Jakarta came back for the Chinese New Year celebration and i thought of a good excuse of having a gathering among my close friends. There was so many places in mind but i could not think of anywhere good enough! And one of my friend suggested "The Han Room" in Mid Valley which recently opened. I googled, checked the menu and was satisfied with it. Quickly called and made the reservation!

The day comes and i was the early one to reached. As i enter the restaurant, i was greeted graciously. My expectation to the restaurant on serving was like the normal-one-dish-at-a-time method, but least expected was as we were served like fine dining ala carte' style (individually served). Wow! A plus star from me!!

The menu started with the famous Salmon Yee Sang dish.

table setting

Famous Salmon Yee Sang

The yee sang is essential to the chinese menu as it welcomes the year with many colours and great prosperity. The salmon fish represent the treasure in the dish and while you toss the dish higher, the more your wealthy you will be. Next was the shark's fin soup. The vinegar has been replaced with the green thai chillies. This seasoning gives the kick to its taste. Nice!

Braised Coral Shark's Fin Soup in Claypot

Thai chillies seasoning

The next dish is the fish. The fish is soft and fresh, sweet seasoning surrounding with pomelo sauce. On top of the fish was the fried crispy sotong. I like the sotong as it does not taste like the roasted ones selling outside, but this sotong is very tasty. I did not have enough of it and asking for more!

Pan Fried Chilean Cod Fish with Pomelo Sauce
The pork roll is... speechless! It tasted like beef. Wrapped with spring onions!

Charcoal Grilled Spanish Pork Roll
I was shock with this dish as i could not identify what it was.! Hehe! I was thinking, could it be another fish? or chicken? It looked barbeque. Its actually taufu serve with mushroom. I like!!

Braised Imperial Beancurd with Spinach & Seasonal Vegetables
After the taufu, i could say that my tummy was so full that i could not eat more! Although the dishes were served individually but it was served in a large portion in fine dining style. I though i could skip the next dish and just go ahead with the dessert. But i was impressed that it was prepared in-front at our table where we could witness the cooking. The ingredients got me wondering whether is it too much. Hehe! Because i was thinking of my filled belly! But it got me wrong! Once the dish was served, the taste of the soup was so tempting that i wanted more, and more! I had the whole bowl of noodle! Wow, i thought to myself.

Pumpkin Noodles with Crab Soup
Last but not least was the dessert! It tasted sweet on top and bitter at the bottom. I don't fancy dessert but i won't mind eating more of this pudding! Yum yum!

Chilled Layered Herbal Jelly & Mango Pudding
With all the dishes served, all of us chilled with a cup of chinese tea with lots of chatting! Hehe! The menu set we order was for 6 pax for RM398++, comes to RM78 per person. It was worth for the service! I will come again, probably with family for the next round during chinese new year!

Again, i wish you all Gong Xi Fa Chai and Happy Chinese New Year 2011!
